What to Expect at Your First Orthodontic Visit

Thanks for considering Lifetime Orthodontics! We’re so glad you found us, and we can’t wait to give you the smile of your lifetime. If this is the first time you’ve considered orthodontic care, we’re here to set your mind at ease. Now that you’ve researched and scheduled your free consultation, here’s what to expect at your first orthodontic visit.

Knock Out the Paperwork

Dr. Wesley, a Clinton Township orthodontist, develops his treatment recommendations with the whole person in mind. In order to do that, we want to know all about you. We will text you a link that will take you to our New Patient Forms. You will be able to complete them right from your phone, then they come directly to us. We ask that you complete them prior to arriving for your consultation so that we have time to prepare for you. Be sure to include your insurance information so that we can verify your coverage and include the most up-to-date information as we customize a payment plan for you.

Two Convenient Locations

Lifetime Orthodontics has two locations to serve you: one in Clinton Township and the other in Grosse Pointe Woods. Upon arriving, you’ll check in with our friendly reception team. Visiting a new place for the first time can feel a little scary so we’ll gladly show you around the office.

Diagnosis

The first step in your journey is diagnostic records. Records in our office include digital photos, a digital scan and cutting-edge 3D imaging that allow Dr. Wesley to see your teeth in multiple planes. The 3D image also allows him to do a thorough examination of your airway. Diagnostic records include digital photographs and X-rays. These are important because they help us identify issues with your teeth, jaw, and facial features. Even better, the X-rays show the doctors what’s happening beneath your gums. Your diagnostic records are where your unique orthodontic path begins.

Designing Your Treatment Plan

After Dr. Wesley reviews your records, he will design your treatment plan, especially for you. Just like no two sets of teeth are identical, no two treatment plans will be identical. At Lifetime Orthodontics, there is no single treatment applicable to every smile. Some patients will need very little orthodontic intervention. Others will need more extensive options. The particulars of your treatment plan will be between you and your orthodontist.

Financial Arrangements

At our practice, we value every patient that graces our doors. We understand that finances can get in the way of seeking proper treatment. To that end, we’re dedicated to making financial arrangements that fit within your budget. Different kinds of orthodontic interventions have additional associated costs. Have insurance questions? Don’t worry. We will work with your insurance company to iron out the details of what you’re covered for and what you aren’t. The exact cost of your treatment will depend on the plan your doctor outlines for you. But regardless of the amount, we promise to work with you to negotiate a payment plan that works for your budget.
