Welcome to the Lifetime Orthodontic blog post.

See Welcome to the Lifetime Orthodontic blog post. As a health care professional, I strongly believe that one of my inherent duties is that of an educator; to be a distributor of knowledge. I have spent many years and experiences gaining dental and orthodontic knowledge. This knowledge, however isn’t mine to keep but rather mine to share. Hence, the primary reason for the creation of this blog:

  • To provide a platform for open discussion.
  • To provide a platform for your orthodontic questions or concerns to be acknowledged and answered.
  • To provide, maybe, just a little fun too!

Although I believe it is nearly impossible for all non-A.I. lifeforms to have some degree of bias, I try to the best of my human abilities to remain unbiased. I have always been a skeptic and truth-seeker. Therefore, I really like to dive into relevant research and articles before readily accepting new or old ideas. I always try to present with as many scientific and peer-review backed content as possible. I do this in an attempt to unveil the clout behind the corporate orthodontic product world and their multimillion-dollar marketing campaigns. So please share your thoughts and ask your questions! I am sure someone else out there has the same question and I would love to be the one to help you get your answers.

I also do this because I enjoy writing, sharing, and socializing. Let me be clear, I never said I was good at writing. In fact, it may have always been my greatest weakness academically. However, I firmly believe that we should not steer away from our weaknesses, but rather confront them! That is precisely what is happening here. I am demanding myself to become a better writer and what greater place to do so than the WORLD wide web? Here I go!

The Lifetime Orthodontic blog will have a broad scope of content. We will help keep you up on the latest technology in the orthodontic world as well as our practice. We’ll discuss popular and trending oral health and orthodontic topics, showcase guest writers, and share popular articles in our field. We’ll also share our experiences from fundraisers, community outreach projects and charitable contributions. We may even provide a little behind the scenes look into the workings of the Lifetime Orthodontics team! It might just be a place you can come to find an inspirational thought.

My final motivation for this blog is that I absolutely love orthodontics. I love the opportunities it provides to meet wonderful people and families. I love the challenges and the rewards. I love the opportunity to be a part of a team. I love that, as a team, we can provide some life-changing results. Most importantly, I love that the orthodontic profession provides a platform to lead a life of fulfillment and service to others…. the true measures of success. My final mission for the this blog will be to share my enthusiasm and gratitude. To paraphrase Ron Burgundy, “I wanted to shout it from on top of a mountain but I didn’t have a mountain, I had a website and a blog.”

Dr. Wesley

“Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.” –Aristotle
