Lifetime Orthodontics was built on the belief that orthodontic care is about lifting up our neighbors, encouraging confidence, and building community through kindness. With offices in Clinton Township and Grosse Pointe, our impact stretches across Macomb County and into the hearts of the families we serve through a number of incredible community initiatives. We’re going to tell you a bit more about them today!
Go With All Your Smile: Our Foundation for Giving
To expand our reach to those who need orthodontic care most, Dr. Wesley and the Lifetime Orthodontics team launched the Go With All Your Smile (GWAYS) Foundation—a nonprofit initiative rooted in generosity and designed to help foster children in Macomb County receive the orthodontic treatment they deserve.
Dr. Wesley is a native of southeast Michigan and completed all of his higher education in his home state. This personal connection plays a big role in his support of our local communities.
How We Help
The GWAYS Foundation focuses on children who are:
- Between the ages of 7 and 16
- In foster care, wards of the state, or have lost their parents prematurely
- In orthodontic need and dentally ready for treatment
Our goal? To provide over $500,000 worth of free orthodontic care in the next five years. For children without consistent family support or resources, this care is transformative. A restored smile opens doors, builds self-worth, and creates opportunity that can shift the trajectory of someone’s life.
We also work alongside Friends of Foster Kids to extend our outreach and offer support to even more children in the local area. Operating entirely through volunteer efforts, Friends of Foster Kids embodies a community-driven approach to making a tangible difference in the lives of foster children and young adults transitioning out of the system.
Help Us Help Them: Turtle Adoptions
Meet WJ the Turtle, our beloved mascot! Turtles symbolize longevity, wisdom, and resilience—qualities we admire in the kids we serve. WJ found a home with us, and he’s inviting you to help more turtles (and children) find theirs.
For just $25, you can adopt a turtle to support the GWAYS Foundation. Every turtle adoption:
- Helps fund orthodontic care for foster children
- Spreads awareness of the need for community-based solutions
- Brings a bit of joy and purpose to your home, school, or office
Nominate a Child in Need
Do you know a child who could benefit from orthodontic care through the GWAYS Foundation? We welcome nominations from schools, social workers, community members, and healthcare providers.
To be considered, nominees must:
- Show an orthodontic need and be between 7–16 years old
- Be dentally cleared by a general dentist
- Have reliable transportation for routine visits
- Write a short letter expressing their interest in treatment
- Commit to maintaining good oral hygiene and attending regular check-ups
The nomination process includes a short form and a thoughtful explanation of why this child is a good candidate. Please reach out to us directly if you have any additional questions, and find more extensive information on our Charity page.
Giving Back Beyond Braces
The GWAYS Foundation is just one of the many ways Dr. Wesley and Lifetime Orthodontics pours love back into Clinton Township and Grosse Pointe. These partnerships allow us to contribute to a wider circle of care beyond orthodontics!
Let Local Practices Shine
When it comes to your smile, personalized care matters a lot. Choosing a local, family-owned orthodontic practice means you’re much more than just another number.
- Consistent, Personalized Care: You’ll see the same doctor and team at every visit, building real relationships and providing you with continuity of care.
- Flexible Scheduling & Financing: With fewer corporate limitations, local offices like ours offer more personalized payment plans and better scheduling flexibility.
- Expertise Without the Quotas: Your care is guided by your needs, not a corporate checklist. We never place profit above the needs of our patients.
